The Cabrera Palace was built in 1935 as a solidarity work, so that elderly women without families could live in their own place and in a warm and supportive environment.
Filomena and José Devoto dedicated their entire lives to financing social projects in their neighborhood with their own assets, including the Chapel and the "Hogar Devoto" a building for give shelter, education and religion to orphaned boys and girls.
Filomena, now a widow, bought Palacio Cabrera building to honor her husband. The Administration of this headquarters was entrusted to the San Vicente de Paul Society, which also absorbed Hogar Devoto, even after Filomena's death in 1947.
Cabrera's home closed its doors forever in 2010 and was left in the care of a landlord, blending in with the so-called Palermo Hollywood and not attracting much attention other than the graffiti artists who took advantage of its walls.

Today, after an exhibition held by Casa FOA, the Palacio Cabrera (neocolonial-style building) has been remodeled by real estate developer BrodyFriedman. It was a restructuring project that had 36 habitable units on its original structure, which was reformed and restored in its entirety.

This vibrant area of the bohemian sub-barrio Palermo Viejo sits between the streets Santa Fé, Coronel Díaz, Córdoba and Juan B. Justo. This is one of the trendier parts of Palermo (along with Palermo Hollywood) and a favorite haunt of backpackers, hipsters and designers. It is home to lazy, tree-lined cobblestone streets where new businesses continue to spring up in the old Spanish-style houses and converted warehouses. Apartment is 20 minutes by taxi from the Local Airport called Aeroparque (AEP) by taxi and we are 50 minutes by taxi from Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) in normal transit.
Bus Retiro Station is 20 minutes by taxi or 30 minutes by subway (combination 2 lines).
Public transport in Buenos Aires is very good and affordable. It is important to buy the SUBE card and load it to access subways, buses and trains. Nearest to buy this card is Plaza Italia.
The subway that allows you excellent access to the Center is only 2 blocks to Lane D (Plaza Italia Station).
Also in Av Santa Fe there are several bus lines that allow access main hotspots in Buenos Aires.
Transport in bicycles has a strong development in Buenos Aires and there are several bike lanes in the area and also the nearest station is only 2 blocks in Plaza Italia .
As mobile transport apps we recommend Cabify and / or Easy Taxi that both have good service level and are legal in our city.
